Being Momma G: Day 153

After a few busy days, we had a day in today.

Sean was slowly but surely learning to sleep through the night. He woke once at 2.30am for a feed, and I did a bit better at staying awake this morning, dozing for only a few minutes. Jonathan moved Sean back to his bed and we all slept until 6am. Jonathan brought the little man into our bed and we had some cuddles for a while before we got up and had some breakfast. Jonathan left for work soon after, and Sean gobbled down the sweet potato, pear and rice cereal mix I prepared for him.

After Sean went down for his morning sleep, I settled in for a relaxing day at home. A load of laundry was washed and hung out on the line to dry, the cleaned laundry was put away, the dishwasher was loaded and later unloaded, the bed was made, and I even had time to wash my hair and have a long and luxurious hot shower. All because the little man slept for 3.5 hours. Yes, you read it correctly - Sean's morning nap turned into a big sleep!

Sean was showing a very big liking to sweet potato, so he had some more at lunch. We had some play time after lunch, before the little man went to sleep again. I played games on the computer and caught up with my TV shows, and relaxed on the couch - a rare feat if I must say so myself.

Sean slept like a champion, and woke at 4pm for dinner. On the menu was more sweet potato and zucchini, which Sean gobbled down quickly and looked to want more! Sean was wide awake and wanting to play after his meal, so we went out to collect the laundry off the line. Sean loved facing forward in the baby pouch, and giggled every time I brushed the cool clean clothes against his face.

While Sean played on the floor, I folded and put the laundry away. Sean was a bit clingy and really didn't want to go back for another sleep, and he stayed up for a couple of hours before finally reluctantly nodding off. This sleep was always the most troublesome of them all - Sean would always only sleep for 40 minutes, which made it almost impossible for me to do anything, just when I really needed to be cooking dinner. Today, it took Sean about 20 minutes to settle down, just as Jonathan was walking through the door. I raced around and got our dinner ready, and we were almost finished eating when the little man woke up.

It was a little bit earlier than usual, but we decided to give Sean his supper at 8pm. Sean drank the expressed breast milk without stopping for breath, before enjoying bath time with Jonathan. Bath time today was a bit shorter than usual, as Jonathan was suffering from back pains. A top up bottle of formula followed, although Sean only drank a little bit before refusing the rest.

It was a lovely day in with my beautiful little man. And now that I have been "milked", I'm off to bed. Jonathan is following suit as his back is still giving him problems, and he's hoping he will sleep after taking some Panadeine Forte to help ease the pain. Poor thing. Hope his back gets better tomorrow and he's able to get a good night's sleep.
