After our big adventure yesterday, today turned out to be another action packed day for Sean.It was 1am by the time Sean woke for a feed. After being asleep for 5.5 hours, Sean was very hungry and enjoyed a good feed in bed. Sean managed another 3.5 hours sleep before waking at 5am for his next feed. When Sean next woke at 7.30am, I wasn't going to deny him more milk, considering the long long day he had yesterday.
Sean and I enjoyed a little bit of play time after the feed, before noticing our lovely gardener Warren was getting ready to mow our lawn for us. Sean and I had a good long chat with him, and we dropped into Rita's backyard for a short visit too, and had a good chat with her. Rita asked if Jonathan and I could help her over the weekend to move a few things from her garage down to the kerb for the Council pick up early next week, and I readily agreed. I could see Rita really wanted to have a cuddle with Sean, so we made plans for us to drop by again early next week.
After our chats with Warren and Rita, Sean went back to bed for a good sleep, in preparation for our Mothers Group outing. Today's gathering was at Top Ryde Shopping Centre just near the kids play area, near Pumpkin Patch. We'd missed out on the previous week's gathering due to Tresillian, and I was really looking forward to seeing the ladies again.
Right on time, Sean woke at 11.30am for a feed, and after a bit of a play while I scoffed down some lunch, we changed into our "going out" clothes and got ready to head up to Top Ryde Shopping Centre. Sean was happy to be in the pram, and soon after we arrived, he had a nap in the pram while I caught up with the ladies.
The group today consisted of Rachel & Maddy, Janet & Caitlin, Candy & Nathaniel, Suzie & Cara, Daisy & Olivia and us. Rebecca joined us for a very short time, to invite us to her house for next week's gathering. Rebecca's husband Simon was spending the day with Rebecca, who was enjoying her last couple of weeks of maternity leave. Rebecca's little girl Emily was a little bit older than the rest of the babies - Emily was 6 months old, and was starting to learn how to crawl. After extending her invitation to have us over at her house next week, Rebecca and Simon left to enjoy their afternoon.
It was a lovely gathering. All the babies seemed to want to sleep at the same time, and all the babies all seemed to want to feed at the same time as well. After a short sleep, Sean woke at 2.45pm, and I continued chatting with the ladies while feeding Sean. Most of the other ladies fed their babies too as we continued enjoying each other's company. The afternoon flew by all too quickly, and soon we all went our separate ways. As we had just passed the free parking threshold and were now requiring to pay for our parking, Sean and I went to Big W for a quick wander before heading home.
We got home just after 5.30pm, and sat down to a proper feed. Sean would have had a good sleep too if today wasn't Thursday and Jonathan and I had not planned to do the grocery shopping at Rhodes Shopping Centre. By the time we finished feeding, Jonathan was home from work, and we got ready to head out again.
With Sean fed, it was our turn to have dinner, so we headed to the food court when we arrived at Rhodes Shopping Centre. The choices were quite limited, and in the end, Jonathan had something from the Chinese food stall, while I had a bowl of Tom Yum Thai with noodles. We headed up to Ikea after dinner, and bought 2 sets of outdoor furniture for our backyard. We had been talking for some time about getting some outdoor furniture, and just before Christmas, I had seen a set consisting of a table, a bench seat and 2 arm chairs at Ikea for $150. After much debate, we decided to get 2 sets of furniture, as we had enough room in the backyard for them, plus it would be extra seating for our guests at Sean's baptism celebration lunch. With our Ikea Family membership, the price we paid per set was $50 cheaper than the normal price.
We wheeled the heavy boxes to the delivery counter and paid Ikea $30 to deliver the parcels. The delivery was scheduled to arrive between 7am and 10am tomorrow, which suited us as I didn't have anything planned until 10am, when Sean and I would be paying a visit to the family day care house next door.
As quick as we could, we whizzed around Coles and got all our groceries, and headed home with an increasingly cranky Sean. As soon as we put all the groceries away, we went through the last feed of the night routine with Sean - a feed, a bath, a top up, a short play, and bed.
What a day! We'd gotten so much achieved today. Tomorrow is another full day for us, with 3 outings in total. What busy little bees we are!
