Sean woke up at 3.30am for his next feed, and after being a bit fussy with the feed, he managed to completely wake himself up at the end of the feed. I could not make him go back to sleep, no matter what I did, so Jonathan took over and had some cuddles with Sean. I was so tired I fell back to sleep, and Jonathan told me later that Sean did sleep for a little bit while I was asleep.
At 6.45am, I was awake enough to give Sean a feed, who was wide awake and alert afterwards. As we didn't give Sean a bath the night before, I decided to give him a bath - the 2nd time I've done this since we came home from the hospital. Sean enjoyed the bath - he always loves floating in the water, but he still has issues with getting his hair washed, and this morning was no exception. After the bath, Sean went back to sleep, so I had a shower, made the bed, put on a load of laundry, made myself some breakfast and even had time to eat it before Sean woke again just after 10am.
Sean surprised me by going back to sleep almost straight after the feed, so I checked on the laundry and started getting my lunch ready. I was so close to finishing my lunch when Sean woke just before 1pm.
I started to feel fatigued during this feed, and nodded off on more than one occasion. Straight after the feed, I took Sean into bed with me, hoping he would fall asleep next to me so I could get an afternoon nap. Sean had other ideas, and it took a long time for Sean to fall asleepnot. In fact, in the end, I was asleep before he was, and when I jolted awake to find Sean still in my arms, I put him in the bassinet and rolled over and went back to sleep.
We'd arranged to have dinner with my parents tonight, so I was hoping to time the feeds so that Sean would not be yucky through dinner. So when Sean woke at 4.15pm for a feed, the timing was perfect. We would finish feeding at around 5.15pm, and then head over to my folks' house; Sean would hopefully be asleep by the time we got there and stay asleep for most of dinner, and we may be lucky enough to not have to feed Sean until we got home.
Dinner was amazing, as usual, for my dad is a really good cook. Sean had some cuddles with Por Por before dinner, and the little suck up put on the performance of his life and slept through most of dinner. Why he can't do this when he's at home is beyond me and Jonathan! Sean was getting grizzly, so I fed him before we left Dad and Mum's.
After being a bit grizzly in the car, Sean took a little while to go to sleep once we got home. He's now been asleep for a while, and both Jonathan and I are exhausted. Sean will probably wake up soon for another feed, but that's OK - he's due another feed soon anyway. In the meantime, we are going to lie down in the bed and sleep as much as we can.
