Sean woke up at 1.20am for a feed, and afterwards he went back to sleep. He woke again at 4am, fed for 40 minutes, slept for 30 minutes, woke again at 5.10am, fed for 20 minutes, slept for an hour and woke up again. I was so exhausted by this point that the thought of breast feeding was enough to make me cry, so when my darling husband offered to get out of bed and make a bottle of formula for Sean, I readily accepted. According to Jonathan, I was asleep before he'd finished making the bottle.
Jonathan left at 7.30am to go pick up Mina, and when they returned, quietly had breakfast. Sean and I continued to sleep for a little while before Sean wanted his breakfast at 8.40am. We had a short play time after the feed before Sean went back to sleep. After such a big night, constantly being awake, Sean slept well until lunch time.
Our friend Rachel had planned to visit us today, and we were looking forward to the visit. While Sean was sleeping after the 8.40am feed, we made some cupcakes for afternoon tea. Rachel arrived around 1.30pm, and we had a lovely catch up. Rachel had a few cuddles with Sean, who wasn't too happy about being in his bassinet and missing out on the visit with Rachel, so he slept in my arms for the afternoon. The cupcakes were delicious - mini vanilla cupcakes with strawberry icing - just the right thing for afternoon tea.
Jonathan and I had promised Mina some play time at Småland at Ikea, so at around 3pm, we got ready to leave so Mina could have a decent amount of playtime. It was really great to see Rachel - she was with me the night Jonathan and I met at the Crows Nest Hotel. Rachel promised to return to future visits now that she knew where we lived.
Sean was hungry by the time we got to Rhodes Shopping Centre, so Jonathan and Mina took off for Ikea while I found the Parents Room and fed Sean. By the time we were finished, it was almost 4.30pm and nearly time to take Mina home. Jonathan and I had a quick look in Ikea, before the buzzer beeped and we went to collect Mina. While Jonathan drove Mina home, Sean and I walked down to Coles and had a look at the fresh food shops for something for Jonathan and I to have for dinner. Sean was unsettled in the pram, so I carried him for a while before he fell asleep.
After feeding Sean at 6.30pm, the little man went to sleep without too much of a fuss. I made dinner for Jonathan and me and we were able to enjoy it in peace and quiet.
We're both a bit tired now, but we're going to wait and see what time the little man wakes up for his next feed before going to bed. Sean is sleeping so well, so we'll just wait and see.
