Day +36: More Cupcakes for Us!

We waited, and waited, and waited, and our visitors never arrived.

After making plans with Jessie to have her and her girls Tiffany and Tracy over for afternoon tea, no one came. I watched their car go out around 2.30pm, presumably to collect Tiffany from school, and then saw their car arrive back at around 4pm. As I was expecting them to pop in, I didn't jump out our front door to wave at them. Sean and I waited, but by 5.30pm, we knew we had been stood up.

Perhaps one of the girls wasn't feeling well. Perhaps they had other things they needed to do. Perhaps they forgot. Any way you looked at this, we didn't have visitors today. I was a little bit disappointed, but I was sure Jessie had a good reason for not coming over.

I did bake - double choc fudge cupcakes. Oh well, more cupcakes for me and Jonathan!

Sean enjoyed some cupcake this afternoon - much like his Daddy, Sean has a sweet tooth, and he devoured a few mouthfuls of choc fudge cupcake goodness for afternoon tea. I only wished Sean would eat just as much or as eagerly his main meals of the day.

For our dinner, I made a glorious pot of chorizo and chickpea stew. Last night when I was at the supermarket, I had spotted a deli special - chorizo sausages were half price, so I had bought some to freeze. I'd made the stew for Jonathan last winter, and with the chill in the air, Jonathan had requested the stew for dinner. The stew was super easy to make, and it made the house smell warm. So delicious and warming too.

Another Clinic day tomorrow, which I hope will be much like yesterday - quick and painless in a room with a TV. Better go and pack the bags for tomorrow!
