Day +47: Happy Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day today. It more than made up for my first Mother's Day, as a mother, being "ruined" last year.

To be honest, I did practically nothing today. I had a lovely sleep in this morning, with Jonathan getting of bed to look after Sean and feed him breakfast. It was only a small sleep in, but it was a luxurious start to the day.

Sean was well behaved today. He must have known today was a special day, and he ate his breakfast without too much fuss, which continued for the other meals of the day too. We hoped Sean will continue eating well from here on in - once he is back into a routine of eating properly, we can then get him back into the routine of drinking out of a bottle or a cup. The sooner we can get him on to those habits, the sooner we are able to have the NG tube removed from Sean's face and stomach.

Sean had a lovely long nap shortly after Jonathan left, so I was able to leisurely pad around the house and do absolutely nothing. There wasn't enough dirty laundry to put the washing machine on, and all the dishes were taken care of, so I sat down to some of my TV shows and relaxed until Sean woke from his nap for lunch.

Jonathan came home bearing a special Mother's Day gift for me. For days, Jonathan had hounded me about gift ideas, and I thought long and hard before telling him I would like a new kitchen gadget - a Tefal Fresh Express. Jonathan wanted to get me the gadget last year, but I resisted then, and considering how many more salads we were eating these days, I felt it was time to acquire this nifty little gadget. Fortunately, Target had a one-day only sale, which made the gadget even cheaper than the originally discounted price.

At 4pm, we got ready to head over to my parents' place for dinner. We had hoped my sister Grace and her family would be joining us for dinner tonight, but my brother-in-law Vinay was spending the day purging his body in readiness for a gastroscopy first thing tomorrow morning, so they spent the day at home. We wanted to get to Dad and Mum's place a bit earlier, so they could have a play with Sean before dinner.

We gave Mum a gorgeous bunch of lilies, which she loved. Dinner was a lovely, quiet affair, and Sean showed off his eating prowess to his grandparents, who were pleased to see how well Sean was putting away the food.

Overall, I had a very lovely Mother's Day. To all the mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, and mums-to-be, hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day today, especially our very special mums Robin and Meme, and our gorgeous Nana Una and Gran Pat.
