Day +69: An Inside Day

I love Mondays.

I know that sounds odd, but I have grown to love Mondays. On Mondays, I do not make plans to be anywhere, with anyone, to do anything, at any time. On Mondays, Sean and I stay indoors, and recover from the previous week. On Mondays, I catch up on my TV watching, magazine reading (sometimes), blogging (also sometimes), and rest.

Sean too likes Mondays. On Mondays, Sean knows we are going to be at home all day long, and takes the opportunity to sleep in his cot during his nap time very seriously. So much so, that often, on Mondays, Sean will sleep at least 3 hours during his nap.

Today was no exception. Today, with the weather being so cold and miserable outside, we had a lovely day in, rugged up and resting, recovering from the busy week that was last week.

With meal times becoming slightly longer and longer over the past few days, due to Sean's reluctance to swallow his food, by the time we were done with breakfast, it was well and truly mid-morning. A bolus of milk later, and it was almost time for Sean's nap. We played for a short time before Sean started rubbing his eyes, and he fell asleep within minutes of laying down in his cot.

While Sean napped, I did a bit of housework, tidying up after a visit from Mina, and prepped for dinner by boiling some hard boiled eggs for our Scotch Eggs before settling down to my TV shows. I was tired, so I had a bit of a nap as well.

True to form, Sean slept for just over 3 hours. He woke in a fabulous mood, and I only knew he was awake when I heard him singing softly to himself. It was way too late to feed him any solids, considering how long it was taking him to eat each meal, so I gave him his usual lunch bolus of milk and set him down on the rug in front of the couch to play.

While Sean played, my eyelids became heavier and heavier, and at one point, I let them close over my eyes and had a short nap. Sean was more than happy to continue playing by himself, and for a spell, he also sat quietly watching Toybox. The music was boppy and easy to follow and the characters wore brightly coloured clothing. I ended up having a pretty good 20 minute nap, and woke to Sean gently stroking my arm.

Feeling ever so slightly refreshed, I got up to make the Scotch Eggs for dinner, and waited until Jonathan got home before putting them in the oven.

I hadn't made Scotch Eggs for Jonathan for weeks, and they were every bit as good as I remembered them to be. Even Sean got into the act - he ate half an egg white, and kept coming for more!

We need to head back to Castle Hill tomorrow to get our car serviced by Kmart Auto. I'm looking forward to a bit of shopping at Castle Towers tomorrow, and possibly enjoying some more xiao long bao from that dumpling shop. Mmmm... dumpling...
