The past week was hard. And things threatened to get a bit harder today.
Both Jonathan and I were feeling the pinch. We were both run down, and fatigued, and hoped we weren't getting sick. Jonathan woke with a sore throat and a bit of a cough, and I felt so strained and limp all day long. I was not in the mood to fight Sean through his meals today, so I tried my best to remain calm while feeding him.
It took what little patience I had left to remain calm while I coaxed small amounts of food into Sean. It was so frustrating; the time Sean took to swallow each mouthful of food would vary between 3 minutes to 5 minutes, by which time the food would turn to complete watery mush. Often, the food would drip out of the corners of Sean's mouth, which was disgusting. I was growing ever more resentful of Sean's refusal to eat his food in a timely manner.
I was so fatigued by afternoon that I literally fell down on the couch and couldn't keep my eyes opened. Fortunately, Sean was happy to play by himself and watch the children's shows I had put on the TV, allowing me a 20-minute kip. Unfortunately, by the time I woke up, a headache had made its way into my head.
There was a bigger headache waiting us in our mailbox.
Addressed to Jonathan was an envelope from Family Relationship Centre (FRC). It appeared the stupid Evil Witch made contact with them to try and get Jonathan into trouble for refusing to take Mina to future play sessions at the German church. It was her way of reporting Jonathan to the authorities for "shirking his responsibilities" and for "being a bad father".
Idiot.
Yes, her words. Hurtful pack of lies.
Idiot.
It was obvious the Evil Witch thought that the FRC could force Jonathan into doing whatever she couldn't force him to do. It was obvious the Evil Witch thought the FRC would punish Jonathan. It was obvious the Evil Witch thought she would get her way.
Idiot.
The letter we received from the FRC today noted that the Evil Witch had been in contact, and suggested another mediation session between the parties. Not bloody likely. The last time Jonathan went through the mediation process, it turned out to be a waste of time. Nothing happened. The last time Jonathan went through the mediation process, there was no mediating. The session consisted of the Evil Witch saying her bit, and Jonathan saying his bit, and then nothing. The mediator said nothing, did nothing, and it was a complete waste of time.
Fact of the matter is, we have a Consent Order, which does not state we must take Mina to anything. These confounded play sessions were not part of the Consent Order. We cannot be forced to take Mina to anything. As such, Jonathan didn't see the point in going back to the FRC to waste any more time.
Another factor was that the mediation session would only be held during business hours. In light of everything that had happened this year, with Sean's lengthy hospital stays and Jonathan taking time off to be with us in hospital, he could ill-afford to take any more time off that was unnecessary. So attending another useless, time-wasting mediation session was out of the question.
We decided that Jonathan will contact the FRC tomorrow to speak to someone about the matter. He will explain his side of the story, and firmly refuse to attend another session. Hopefully, this will be the end of it.
All this effort from the Evil Witch, just so she could have a few hours off every second Saturday while she packed her daughter off to some play sessions. Imagine what good she could do if she only put her efforts towards something useful, like getting a job and keeping it.
Idiot.
I am feeling so world weary right now. When will this nightmare ever end?
