Day +77: Someone Has Missed His Cot!

Sean must have really missed having his day sleep in his cot over the past few days. Today, he reclaimed his cot and slept like a boss.

For over 3 hours. Boom!

I wasn't too surprised that Sean showed his cot who's boss. He didn't have a good nap in the cot on Friday after our big grocery shopping expedition, he was being dragged to Chatswood in the walking stroller on Saturday, and he napped in the smaller stroller on Sunday as well as yesterday, with both of the naps being short and sweet.

Even though today was Tuesday, it was still our first day after the weekend, and as with every other week, today was our "recovery day".

Sean was very fussy with his breakfast this morning, so he ended up having his morning bolus quite soon after we finally finished eating breakfast. The weather was really cold, and since none of us liked using the heater through the ducted central air conditioning, we were setting fashion trends with our multi-layering looks to keep warm. (As an aside, Jonathan and I don't like using the air conditioning unless we had to, as it was expensive to run - we use it more in summer to cool the house down, and prefer to rug up in winter to keep warm. Sean doesn't like the air conditioning because the air dries him up too much.)

I could always tell when Sean was tired - he would start falling over his own feet, and the slightest little brush against a hard object would result in inconsolable tears and loud screams. Today was no exception. I was busy prepping the chicken sausages for our mild chicken curry when Sean started getting tired, and he was beyond upset with me as I wasn't able to pick him up and deal with knives and hot oven doors at the same time. I finished the prep work as quickly as I could, and picked up my slobbering mess of a baby for a cuddle before putting him to bed.

The curry was bubbling away happily in the slow cooker, and the delicious aromas slowly filled the house. It was comfort food at its best, and in this weather, I really wanted comfort food. I'll eat salads again when the weather starts to get warmer.

My only big job today was to order more PediaSure for Sean. We were down to our last 2 cans of PediaSure and desperately needed more, so I hoped the delivery man will come tomorrow with our order.

With Sean sleeping happily, I too took a nap on the couch. I do love my little luxuries in life.

The curry was exactly what Jonathan wanted for dinner, and when he opened the door to the wonderful aromas, he was happy. Buoyed by the prospect of a delicious dinner, Jonathan went to his computer and started drafting the email to the Evil Witch informing her of our decision about German school. Jonathan was kind enough to allow me to read through the email prior to sending, and without further ado, the explosive email was sent.

We are both looking forward to having our sleepover weekends back to doing things WE want to do. Thank you, my darling husband. It wasn't an easy thing to do, sending that email, defying those who have deemed it necessary to punish you for the longest time, and standing up to them and telling them enough is enough. Know that I'm so proud of you for doing this, not just for me and Sean, but for yourself too.
